Solar Simulation Chambers
Type SC.../ MH and SC... / MHGIn combination with the irradiation unit (metal halide lamp and outdoor filter), all three models provide a full-function climate chamber. SC models are equipped with either MH (Metal Halide) or MHG (Metal Halide Global) lamps. Since both optical systems are very similar, both yield equally good results with respect to irradiance and its spatial distribution. However, the MHG lamp is recommended for tests requiring an irradiance of > 1,000 W/m². One important difference lies in the spectral distribution of the radiation that, at certain wavelengths, does not exhibit the energy peaks in the MHG spectrum that are found in the MH spectrum. These peaks can produce widely differing results in samples with a corresponding sensitivity. Another advantage of the MHG lamp lies in the ability to vary output across a specific range as well in the electronic power regulation.
